The West End State School Library Great Book Swap - Calling for Book Donations!

The Great Book Swap is a fantastic way to celebrate reading in our local community, and raise much-needed funds for remote Indigenous communities. The idea is to swap a favourite book in exchange for another, for a gold coin donation. Last year, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation raised over $190,000 from the Great Book Swap and this year their goal is to raise $300,000 to gift 30,000 new books to remote communities who have few to none. After all, how can you learn to read without books? Help us help them by making a donation to our Great Book Swap.

Our Great Book Swap will be held on Wednesday 14th November.

How does it work?

Bring in any used kids’ books or recipe books that you are happy to donate

Donated books go to the library from now until Tuesday 13th November and we will store them

Give your kids a few gold coins on Wednesday 14th November so they can 'buy' one of the donated books to bring home.

If you don't have any old books to donate, you can still participate by 'buying' one of the donated books on the Great Book Swap day on the 14th November.

Thanks for your support
