Research Study on Effective Feedback-Parent Information Evening 16 May 6-7pm

West End State School has agreed to participate in a research study on feedback.  Effective feedback has been found to have one of the greatest impacts upon student learning.   Researchers from the University of Queensland will coach our Year 3 – Year 5 teachers in effective feedback practices.  The coaching will commence with Year 5 teachers in second semester this year.  To help measure the effects of the coaching, the researchers will collect student samples of work prior, during and after the coaching. Students may also be asked to complete questionnaires and/or to participate in a short focus group session about the types of feedback that they find most helpful to learning.  Information letters and consent forms will be sent to parents and students prior to the study commencing.  The researchers will also conduct a Parent Information Session for any interested Year 3 –Year 5 parents on May 16th, 2017 in the school Library, between 6-7pm.
