At West End State School (WESS), our aim, in partnership with parents and families is to ensure that everyday, in every classroom, every student is learning and succeeding.

At West End State School we teach the Australian Curriculum, using the Curriculum to Classroom (C2C) as a resource. Implementation began with the introduction of English, Mathematics and Science in 2012, followed by History in 2013 and Geography in 2014. We are currently undergoing a familiarisation phase of the new Digital Technologies, The Arts and Health and Physical Education curriculum. Full implementation of the Prep to Year 10 Australian Curriculum is expected in Queensland schools by the end of 2020.

WESS is committed to data driven accountability. Teachers are provided information, opportunities and collegial support to analyse their student data to create relevant learning experiences that engage, extend and support our students.


WESS is an integral part of the West End community. We connect to and value our local community through numerous pathways and partnerships with parents and the community.
