Senior Code Club is on in term 3 for students in years 4-6. Code Club is part of an international network designed to provide free access to opportunities to learn creative and computational thinking skills.
This Code Club will suit students who are confident enough to follow projects independently or create their own projects and goals. These weekly after-school sessions will be freeform without any guided lessons. Students can work on a wide range of Scratch projects, and there are also self-guided units in HTML and Python. Some experience would be beneficial but it is not required. Code Club members can choose their own level of challenge.
Members can also explore coding using robotics such as Dot and Dash, LEGO We Do and EV3, and Sphero BOLTs. Others may prefer to work on other tech-related projects such as music making, 3D design and printing, or graphic design.
Senior Code Club will take place on Wednesday afternoons from 2:45-4:15 and is free of charge. It will be supervised by tech and ELEV8 teacher aide David Jeffery.
Forms are available at the office now and participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis. Successful applicants will receive a notice confirming their selection.
