West End State School (WESS) is part of a vibrant, close-knit community situated close to Brisbane’s CBD and the cultural precinct of South Bank.
Our school’s vision to “Empower every student to achieve their personal best to make the world a better place” drives us in everything we do. We have a passionate and committed staff, who ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We use evidence-based, high-yield teaching strategies to engage our students in all areas of the curriculum. Ensuring our students feel safe and supported is central to our work.
Our school values – Creativity, Community, Challenge, Compassion and Confidence, are the glue that binds our community together. With over 1400 students, our connection with our growing school community is very important to us. We therefore provide opportunities to connect and collaborate with our WESS community throughout the year and ensure that we make time to gather and celebrate our achievements.
Our school embraces and celebrates its diversity, living by our motto “We all smile in the same language”.
We are so very proud of our school!
