Library and Resource Centre
Our computerised Library and Resource Centre supports the development of a love of reading while building comprehension, critical thinking and research skills. Students are encouraged to borrow library resources to support learning and reading for enjoyment.
Children may borrow a range of materials, including picture books, fiction and non‑fiction texts. Students in Prep to Year 3 also borrow home readers weekly during their scheduled library lesson. Families are welcome to join the library borrowing scheme and access resources that support shared reading and enjoyment of literature at home.
The library is open during most lunch breaks and provides a calm space for quiet reading, board games and collaborative indoor play, including puzzles and wooden train construction. Students may borrow books during their library lesson, at lunchtime, or before school after 8:20am.
Library computers are available for student use at lunchtime:
Library staff actively promote balance and wellbeing by monitoring computer use and encouraging outdoor play where appropriate.
Online Library Access
West End State School uses a web‑based library management system, Concord Infiniti. Students can access the online library catalogue (OPAC) at any time from school or home.
To log in, students use:
their EQ school username
the library password
From home, the catalogue can be accessed via the shortcut on the school website homepage or directly through the library website.
At school, all computers have an Infiniti shortcut on the desktop.
