West End State School is a large, vibrant inner‑city primary school educating students from Prep to Year 6. With a current enrolment of over 1,400 students, our school continues to grow each year, supported by high‑quality facilities and contemporary learning spaces designed to meet the needs of our expanding community.

Established in 1875, West End State School has a proud and enduring history. We are fortunate to serve many multi‑generational families, reflecting the strong connections and long‑standing relationships within our school community.

As an Independent Public School, West End State School is recognised for its commitment to high‑quality educational opportunities and strong student outcomes.

We are dedicated to providing a happy, safe and inclusive learning environment where every child is valued and supported. Our school celebrates its rich diversity, with over 40% of students speaking a second language, representing more than 90 cultural backgrounds, and over 65 languages spoken at home; a strength that enriches learning and community life at West End State School.

The WESS Strategic Plan and You

West End State School has a clearly articulated Strategic Plan that outlines our key priorities and guides our work in supporting the school’s vision for all students.

The plan identifies four priority areas, one of which focuses on the WESS community. As parents and carers play an essential role in this community, aspects of this priority area relate directly to you. To support shared understanding and engagement, we have developed a parent‑friendly version of the plan titled The WESS Strategic Plan and You.

We believe that a shared language helps foster a connected, compassionate and inclusive school community, strengthening partnerships between families, staff and students.
